About This Spot

Walking into La Cocedora De Langosta, you immediately sense a warm and inviting rhythm that mirrors the tide just outside its doors in La Marina, Ensenada. The soft hum of conversations mingling with the occasional clink of glasses creates a welcoming backdrop, inviting visitors to slow down and savor the moment.

At this seafood haven, the experience is much more than what rests on the plate. Each dish tells a story rooted in coastal tradition and personal touch, from the perfectly tender lobster dripping with garlicky butter to the bright, bracing ceviches that tease the palate with fresh local flavors. The bounty of the sea is presented with a sense of respect and nuance, reflected in creative touches like rich risottos and vibrant tuna preparations that hint at both local heritage and contemporary flair.

The atmosphere is marked by genuine hospitality, where the chef-owner’s presence feels less like a formal greeting and more like a friend sharing a passion. Staff move effortlessly between languages and cultures, making everyone—from curious travelers to regular locals—feel at ease. The food at La Cocedora was amazing! Our local guide recommended this restaurant and it was spot on delish. I ordered the langosta (lobster) Puerto Nuevo style and it comes with rice and beans. My "medium" sized lobster was actually huge! It was cooked to perfection and was tender and juicy. I got garlic butter with it as well. Hubbs ordered the tuna and it was super fresh and it came in small cubes and braised on all sides. It was magnificent. This is the place to have excellent seafood. We spend around $85 for everything including three beers. I will definitely go back here again when possible. Salud!

We were in Ensenada on our cruise and found La Cocedora for lunch. The food was incredible! Fish was fresh and service was great. Chef/owner came even by to chat. Staff bilingual and didn’t even mind our terrible Spanish. Good kid options. Show them some love and get some great fish! Ps. The margs were strong and delicious too!!

UPDATE: Seriously, this is Michelin Star ⭐ level cuisine. After multiple visits over the years I've decided that this is an experience EVERYONE should experience. The shrimp and serrano ceviche was nuanced and delicate. It had cucumbers, freshly pickled red onions and vinaigrette The lobster is always perfectly cooked, and I think I'd just visit for the beans alone. -------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW: Outstanding staff, and the lobster is superb. Make sure to try the clam ceviche with mango and pickled onions. This was a special meal for us. When we asked the waiter if they had fish tacos, he graciously told us they didn't have it on the menu but he would gladly go grab some for us down the street with a local vendor. A+ will visit again.
